Liv Reichley is a music artist and Youtuber from Pennsylvania, best known for her rewrites and different perspectives of popular songs. She also creates original music and has already released a couple of singles. These include collaborations with Bright Kelly and Krish Soni, and an album consisting of 4 songs on Spotify. “Smaller”, her latest single, is about insecurities and how we feel as if we need to change ourselves for other people. Liv’s soft, soothing tones and lovely lyrics will take you on an emotional journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
We were very delighted to be able to ask her a couple of questions and feature her in Velvet Fields Magazine.
When and how did you get into music?
-I got into music the second I could. I remember being 3 years old and singing in the church with my little sister Mariah. I have always been so fascinated by music ever since a young age and it has kept blossoming ever since.
What is your main inspiration?
-My main inspiration with music is to connect people. To show people you are not alone in your experiences, and to embrace your feelings whatever they are!
Who are some of your favorite artists?
-Some of my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Selena Quintanilla, and John Mayer. I love the way they use their words and lyrics in the songs that they write. The definition of amazing storytelling.
What is next for you? Do you have any collaborations planned?
-This summer I have a bunch of music stuff planned, I am so excited to share it with you all. I have an amazing producer that I met online who helps me with all of the production for my songs, he brings it all to life! Bright Kelly will be duetting in one of my new upcoming songs called “Suitcase” which will be out in a few weeks!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
-In 5 years I see myself continuing to inspire young girls to find their voice and to embrace who they are. I would hope to get a bit more recognition for my songs and lyrics, but I just hope I continue to grow and change people’s perspective on music.
What advice would you give to young music artists?
-The best advice I could give to young music artists, is to start now. I was so afraid of what others would think about me, that I wasn’t good enough, that no one could relate to what I was singing about… but I was so wrong. Don’t let it take a global pandemic to start changing your world, start now.
What message would you like to send to your fans?
-The message I would like to send to my fans is thank you. Thank you for believing in me and supporting me before I even believed in myself. Without your love and light, I would be exactly where I was a year ago.
